Goals

The site is the publication medium for The Old AAco Road Sub- Committee of The Karuah Progress Association Incorporated. It aims to promote The Old AAco Road between Karuah and Tahlee with the ultimate aim of having the road placed in the care of a Trust. Currently ownership of the various elements of the road is divided between Great Lakes Council, the State Government, The State National Parks and Wildlife Service and The Australian Agricultural Company with The Karuah Local Aboriginal Land Council also likely to lodge a claim. It is hoped that all of these bodies plus the communities of Karuah and Tahlee and the landholders through whose lands the road runs could all unite to form The Old Australian Agricultural Company Road Trust. This body would be charged with maintaining the road in a manner to allow proper preservation and use of it.
